This blog is starting

So, it's 2012 and we are about done in Seattle. Next stop, Africa. That's right, this time next year we will be in Africa. Last summer we applied to the Samaritan's Purse's post-residency program. And we were accepted. It is super exciting for both of us. After five years of residency we are ready to move on and I am ready to move on.
Africa. Yeah. Right now we are in talks with people in Zambia and Niger. Hopefully we will be able to make a final decision in the next couple of weeks. Both places sound amazing. Zambia is beautiful with great weather and friendly people. The hospital is somewhat small but they can probably use much more help. Niger is a hot desert. The  population is Muslim and very poor. The hospital is starting a residency program to train nationals to be doctors. There are many doctors there to learn from and many other missionaries as well. It might be a good place to start out. Both places will be completely different than Seattle.
We'll let you know what is happening as we figure this stuff out.
