speed bumps
In this country, it seems that the primary method of controlling vehicular speed is through speed bumps. Lots and lots of them. Every town has a series of speed bumps, usually strategically placed in the middle of the market area. Often, speed bumps are of such height that cars risk getting stuck on them. Even trucks have to slow way down (which, incidentally, makes the speed bumps a popular spot for beggars). At the beginning of our trip, we decided to count the number of man-made speed bumps we encountered along the way So take a guess...how many speed bumps on a 11 hour, 410 mile journey in rural West Africa???
