So I decided to compile some pictures I took while traveling during the past month or so. Just to give you taste of what it is like around here. These are some pictures from the car. Pretend you are here traveling with us.

| Sometimes you look out the front of your car and you see this. Livestock in the road as far as the eye can see. And yes, Those are longhorns! |
| Then there are times when you look out the window and you see this. A desert oasis of palm trees. Just beyond these trees is a blue lake. Unlike all the other lakes I've seen here that are brown. |
| This was a lovely evening shot of rice fields in the flood plain (several hours away from here). I thought to myself, this is where all the food comes from. This has got to be some prime real estate. Also, some prime mosquito breeding grounds. |
| But, generally this is what it looks like. Sometimes with more green, sometimes with less. There are surprisingly few rogue plastic bags in this picture. |
| And this lovely occurrence. The first clouds we've seen since we've been here. A few moments after this photo, there were a few meager drops of water from these clouds. |
This week we noticed that some things are starting to seem normal to us. We don't wake up every day disoriented with a feeling of being far from home. For a while there every interaction with the community around us was stressful and tiresome. It is becoming more easy for us to communicate with people and to feel comfortable around them. We have heard that adjusting to culture will produce ups and downs. There have been many ups and downs. Perhaps the roughest part of the ride is over now. Maybe. Maybe not. We'll keep you posted.
