This week was super busy. We had probably thirty guests staying on the compound. They were coming and going all over, UK, France, Ivory Coast, Rawanda, Kenya, Mississippi, and other places. It wasn't just one group either. It was several groups all doing different things, coming and going at all different times. It just so happened that we had computer network issues this week and for a few days I felt snowed in. Towards the end of the week I felt quite a bit better.
Some other events of the week. It rained most of the day one day. that day they were putting up trusses on the new maternity wing. It was cold, like 80 degrees cold. Like busting out your jacket cold, like building a fire cold. It was quite a sight to see, about thirty guys raising the trusses onto the roof by hand in the rain. No one got hurt and now the roofing is going on.

Here, they are raising trusses and putting them in place. If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can see one lucky gentleman has a stocking hat on to stay warm.

The rain provided a nice bird bath for this yellow bird.

Later in the day after all the trusses are up and the men went home.
This week Tab was super busy. She worked many hours covering for the surgeons that were out of town or in meetings with visitors. The other day I decided to have an easy meal since there was no one to cook for.

What is this? There is grease soaking through a cement bag? That can't possibly be food.

Why yes it is food. It is a deliciously fried chicken. KFC has nothing on this bird. It was super spicy it made us cry. But we didn't care because it was SOOOOO good. And it was only five bucks.
We use battery backups on many things here, especially computers. after a while the batteries need to be replaced. Since the power goes on and off up to fifty times a day. Unfortunately APC doesn't sell batteries here or anywhere close to here. So we get sealed rechargeable batteries. They say panasonic on them but the packaging tells me they are not genuine.

Original for long time battery. Just what I wanted. I just hope they do last a long time.

As usual when there are visitors here the camels and their drivers come to give visitors a unique experience of a camel ride. I can't believe how green it is here. It feels like we live in a jungle now, as opposed to the usual dry and arid land of brown and dust.
